Should Women do Strength Training?
1 min readMar 19, 2022
Women should definitely incorporate weight training.
There are exceptional benefits of incorporating weight training for all women.
- Reduces risk of Arthritis, osteoporosis (by improving bone density), age-related ‘Sarcopenia’ and also reduces our chances for injuries.
- Helps burn more fat by improving our Resting metabolic Rate. (When compared to Cardio alone)
- Better body composition.
- Improved overall strength and also for daily chores.
- Helps reduce anxiety (any form of exercise including cardio has shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety)
Also, women do not get as bulky as men simply due to a different hormonal profile. Women have fairly low ‘testosterone’ as compared to Men which is thought to be a great driving factor for hypertrophy.
You can do both strength training and cardio but do not skip training because of misinformation!
