Is Cardio Really Better for Fat Loss as per the information surrounding us?
Cardio burns more calories and is essential for fat loss is the common thought process we have around us.
Cardio alone is JUST WRONG for fat loss just because it burns more calories.
It is true that cardio may burn more calories in a given time compared to Resistance training. However, this BURNING of calories stops as soon the activity stops. Plus, the muscle loss associated just with CARDIO will be more detrimental in the longer run.
Resistance training helps build us muscle and also burns more calories at rest. Gets up physically stronger and provides a better body composition or what we like to call as TONED.
It does not mean cardio is wrong or bad. It is just that alone it will do more harm than good.
Cardio has it place in any program or exercise routine. Used carefully, cardio can provide good benefits such as improved stamina and also improves other activities which demand endurance.
Do not keep a black and white approach. Understand their importance, and use it to maximize your results!
